Gergana Manolova was part of a Bulgarian scientific delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” Between July 24 and August 6, a group of 14 Bulgarians from academia and the corporate sector visited China as part of a “Seminar for Bulgarian Opinion Leaders on Chinese Modernization.”
A series of lectures were held in Beijing on topics such as the development of industries of the future, green transformation, energy system planning, China’s modernization, and others. As part of the scientific visits, the delegation learned about new-generation technologies at companies in Hangzhou. In Linhai and Taizhou, participants saw good practices for the development of sustainable tourism. The program also included cultural exchange with visits to iconic sites such as the Forbidden City and West Lake.
The Bulgarian delegation gave a presentation summarizing key industries in the country that have potential for cooperation with China. The visit ended with a ceremony and a pledge to learn from each other and deepen cultural exchange.
